ABOUT THE SOCIETY

Jayanthi Educational Society, Mahabubnagar was registered under the Telangana (Telangana Area) Public Societies Registration Act 1350 Fasli (Act 1 of 1350) on 07th October, 1997. There are 28 members drawn from various fields of Profession and Occupation. It is the Society of young and dynamic Educationalists, Industrialists, Doctor, Charted Accountant and Businessmen with zeal of serving the Society in the field of Education. Sree Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology & Science, Chowderpally is the first venture of the Society in the field of community service.

The institution is located just 18KM away from Mahabubnagar District Head Quarters on Hyderabad -Mahabubnagar-Raichur Highway. The nearest Airport is Hyderabad. The Institution magnificent building on a landscape of 32 Acres owned by Institute Mahabubnagar is well connected by Rail and Road It is just 90 minutes journey from Hyderabad.

SVITS was established in the year 1998-99 by the JES of Mahabubnagar with a commitment to Engineering & Technology with emphasis in related Science and Management Education. This academic year 2007-08, the institution is completing 10 years of its academic excellence in the above area. Keeping in view, the Knowledge is Power; the institution is putting unflinched efforts to provide the best facilities for the attainment of quality Technical Education. The Institution which started with 4 Undergraduate courses in engineering with 180 intakes has grown into a big institution with 6 Undergraduate courses with intake of 420 students and 4 post graduate courses with intake of 156. The Institution is conducting Decennial Celebrations during 2007-08 spreading over about 4 months. Curricular, co- Curricular and extra Curricular activities besides special functions were conducted without hindrance to the regular class work.
  • Engineers' day : Every year the Engineers' day is celebrated on 15th September to commemorate the services of Sir M.Visvesvaraya. This year, it was celebrated on grand scale by honoring the Senior Engineers like Padmasri Prof Deekshatulu B.L, Former Director, NRSA, Hyderabad, Er. Chandra Mohan FIE, Past Chairman, the Institution of Engineers (India), A.P State Centre Hyderabad and Er. D Amaranath Reddy, Divisional Engineer (Operation) APCPDCL, Mahbubnagar for their commendable services.

  • Technical Paper Contest : A National Level Technical Paper Contest, "SVITS QUEST - 2008" was conducted on 30-31 Jan 2008 with special effect of Decennial Celebrations. From 50 Engineering Colleges 300 Technical papers were received.

  • N.S.S : An N.S.S unit was started in the Institution in 2003. It received financial aid from J.N.T University Hyderabad. Under its programmes a 10 day N.S.S Camp was held at Laxmipally Village in Devarkadra Mandal. A Health Check up Medical Camp and a voluntary Blood Donation Camp were Conducted with the assistance of SVS Hospital & Red Cross Society.

  • Cultural & Literary Activities : The Cultural & Literary Activities were conducted in Various events on different days and a Cultural Day was held on 18.03.2008.

  • Sports & Games : As a part of Decennial Celebrations, Tournaments were conducted in sports & games for staff as well as students.

  • Work shops : A Two-day work shop on "Prospective areas of research in Mechanical Engineering and related approaches" for Mechanical Engg. teachers of different colleges was held on 15th & 16th Feb.2008 by inviting eminent professors from IITs, research organizations and universities.

  • A Two-Day work shop on "Recent Advances on Information Security" was conducted on 8th and 9th March 2008 by inviting eminent experts from universities and industries. The workshop was organized by CSE department for the teachers of computer science and Engineering of different engineering colleges.

  • Construction of Buildings: As a part of the decennial celebrations second floor on the existing boys hostel and dining hall were constructed to provide additional accommodation for the students. Two separate buildings are constructed for MCA & MBA courses.

  • A Parents day : A meeting was organized during September, 2007 for the orientation of the first year students. Freshers day was also organized by the Seniors to welcome the Freshers of 2007-2008.

  • Alumni Meet : Efforts were made to contact all the old students of this institution who are serving with in and out side the country. Alumni meet was organized on 17th FEB 2008 at Visvesvaraya College of Engineering & Technology, a sister institution, at M.P Patelguda, Ibrahimpatnam(M), Hyderabad.

SVITS QUEST

One day National Level Technical Contest (SVITS QUEST) is conducted on 24th February 2019 to bring up the talent of engineering students. This event is being jointly organized by all the departments of the institution.
